Having traveled to over 80 countries and having lived in 6 (Japan, Hong Kong, Mexico, Argentina, U.S., United Kingdom), from a young age, Lina has had a passion to promote human rights issues from a global perspective. At Colby College, Lina focused her studies on Latin America and Women’s, Gender & Sexuality. Upon graduation, she worked in direct service and advocacy for victims of domestic violence and poor and homeless women within the U.S. Since then, she has dedicated her time to the prevention and elimination of gender-based violence internationally, focusing on program implementation and fundraising in Latin America. Lina has also pursued research and website development work related to women’s savings groups and financial inclusion, uplifting the voices of local communities. Lina will be continuing her education at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the fall to receive an MSc in Development Studies.
